Christmas is the time of year
Our thoughts turn to loved ones far and near.
A time to celebrate the birth
Of the babe who came to earth
To show us what it means to love
With the blessings from the One above.
And so as we get out tinsel and tree,
Let us take time down on our knee
To thank Him for blessings that surround.
For we forget to give thanks for all that abounds.
But beyond the gifts that we can touch,
It’s friends and family that mean so much,
And for which we stop and thank Him now.
For it’s the love in them that shows us how
To love like the babe who grew to give,
To show us how we always should live,
Now just at time of Christmas cheer,
But throughout this whole coming new year.
